Giving old tyres a new life
The Enterprise Europe Network helps companies give old products new life. Polish tyre firm Orzeł SA was sending its used stock to be burnt in cement factories. Looking for a greener and cheaper solution, it turned to its local Network branch. Matched up with Vienna-based tyre recycling experts WIL, the company is now setting up a recycling line on its premises. The resulting rubber parts will be sold by WIL throughout Europe.
Jacek Orzeł of Orzeł SA says: “Not only will we benefit from WIL’s technological know-how, but they will also provide a market for the used tyres.”
