Enterprise Europe Network reinforced in Asia; extended to North Africa
The European Commission wishes to see more European small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) profit from the fast growing markets in Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. To speed up this process, the Enterprise Europe Network is extending its outreach.
This was announced at the fourth annual conference of the Network in Warsaw, Poland, today.
The Network has opened new contact points in Japan, doubled its presence in the Chinese market and is taking its first steps into Africa, with eight contact points in place in Tunisia, a longstanding partner in Egypt and Moroccan branches set to open soon.
The conference also honoured five winning SMEs and innovators with special ‘Network Stars’ awards. These awards recognise companies and researchers who have used the Network to find opportunities abroad or to develop their businesses and research.
A Rising Star award was also presented to two young Greek entrepreneurs.
